Privacy policy

This policy explains what ProFormaEngine collects when you use the website at proformaengine.com, the web app at app.proformaengine.com, and the MCP server at mcp.proformaengine.com that connects ProFormaEngine to AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address and the account identifier from our sign-in provider, when your account was created, and when you were last active.
  • Your models: everything you or your AI assistant put into ProFormaEngine, including model names and descriptions, line items, values, formulas, notes, tags, tables and charts.
  • Share links: if you create a view-only link, the link's token and who created it.
  • Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, the details you give our sign-in provider to do so.
  • Technical logs: our hosting providers keep standard request logs (such as IP address, time and the page or endpoint requested) for security and troubleshooting.

We don't use advertising or analytics trackers. The web app sets one cookie, to keep you signed in.

How we use it

  • To sign you in and keep your models private to your account.
  • To store, calculate and show your models, and to answer your AI assistant's requests about them.
  • To run, secure and fix the service, and to contact you about your account.

We don't sell your data, and we don't use your models to train AI models.

AI assistants

When you connect ProFormaEngine to an AI assistant, the assistant sends requests to ProFormaEngine and receives your model data in response, so it can work with your models in your conversations. What the assistant's provider (for example Anthropic for Claude, or OpenAI for ChatGPT) does with your conversations is governed by that provider's own privacy policy.

Who processes it for us

We use these service providers to run ProFormaEngine. They handle data only to provide their service to us.

  • WorkOS: sign-in, accounts and the waitlist.
  • Fly.io: hosting for the web app and the MCP server (United States).
  • Neon: the database that stores accounts and models (Amazon Web Services, US East).
  • Cloudflare: hosting for this website.
  • Cloud file storage: database backups are kept in a private cloud storage account.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Sharing you control

If you create a view-only link, anyone who has the link can see that model without signing in until you delete the link. Delete a link, or the model, to stop it working immediately.

Retention

We keep your account and models until you delete them or ask us to delete your account. Deleted data is removed from the live database right away; copies in database backups are deleted as those backups are retired. Hosting providers keep request logs for their own limited periods.

Your choices

You can delete any model from the web app. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account, email us at the address below.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes we'll let account holders know by email.
